Centralia, Wood Co. Wisconsin, March 16th 1863
The Wood County Teachers' Institute assembled at the Centralia School House on Monday, March 16th, 1863, pursuant to a call from the County Superintendent.
The meeting was opened with prayer by the Rev. J. W. Harris, after which, on motion, Mr. Harris was chosen President and Henry Tyler Secretary.
On motion, the chair appointed a committee on the programme to be pursued,consisting of Miss Eliza J. Baker, Dr. G. F. Witter and Mr. Harris.
On motion the Institute adjourned to Hurley's Hall in Grand Rapids at one o'clock p.m. on account of the unpleasant crossing upon the ice.
