Obituary of Mrs. Thomas Whelan

Mrs. Thomas Whelan, nee Margaret Fitzgerald, oldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Fitzgerald, Townof Erin, born December 9, 1866, died at her home near Hartford, Saturday, April 15, after an illness of several weeks. She attended district and Hartford High School, and after teaching two years, was married to Thomas Whelan at Moches, February 9, 1887. She was the mother of six children: Edward, Mrs. Marie Townsend, and Erwin, Milwaukee; John and Raymond, Hartford; and Clarence, who preceded her in death on January 29 of this year. She is also survived by five sisters: Mrs. Mary Maher, Hartland; Mary and Kathryn Fitzgerald, Denver, Colorado; Mrs. Elizabeth Mountain, Good Thunder, Minnesota; and Theresa Fitzgerald, of Minneapolis, Minnesota; and three grandchildren.

She was a member of St. Kilian's Church and the St. Elizabeth Society. The funeral was held Tuesday, at 9:30 a.m., from the Westenberger Funeral Home, and St. Kilian's Church, the Reverend H. C. Stehling officiating at the Requiem Mass with interment in St. Kilian's Cemetery.
