Weylandt Surnames mentioned: Alvers, Henriksen, Ostby, Weylandt Mrs. August Weylandt, 87, who spent the past 16 summers here with her granddaughter, Mrs. Henry Ostby, 631 18th Ave. S., died Sunday at Pomona, Calif., of complications resulting from a stroke. She was taken ill shortly after arriving at the home of her son Victor in Pomona. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Roseberry Funeral Home in Friendship, the Rev. John J. Alvers of Arkdale, officiating. Interment will take place in Mount Repose Cemetery, Friendship. Mrs. Weylandt resided on a farm near Friendship prior to 1944 when she moved to California. She was born at Naskov, Denmark on April 1, 1873. The daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Hans Henriksen, came to the United States at the age of 13 and married August Weylandt in 1891 at Stone City, Iowa. He preceded her in death in April 1936. Surviving are the son, Victor, Pomona, Calif., a brother, Harvey Henriksen, Milwaukee; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. A daughter, Eleanora, five brothers and one sister preceded her in death. Friends may pay their respects at the Roseberry Funeral Home from 7 p.m. until time of services.
