
From the Adams County Press, March 2, 1912, Page 4 The funeral took place last Sunday of Mrs. Salley Beals of New Chester, services were held at the home of Benj. Beals, her son, and at the New Chester church. Rev. James Deans officiating. The Jonesville choir took part in the services and Mr. Brown of Brooks, had charge of the funeral. Relatives came from near and far, filling every vacant seat in the church. That an aged and loving friend had passed away was seen in the attempt to suppress sobs by the majority present. Mrs. Beals was born in New York in 1833, and came with her parents to Elkhorn, Walworth County, Wisconsin, afterwards removing to New Chester. She was a child of Mr. and Mrs. Wm. DeMott, and leaves one sister and three brothers to mourn their loss. The deceased married Horace Baggs in 1846, two children being born to this union, Omar and Frank Baggs. Later she married Emmerson Beals, and to this union six children were born, Lucy deceased in 1894, Wm. of New Chester, Benj. of Jackson, George of Westfield, Mrs. Nettie Weidewald of Nekoosa, and Mrs. Annie Bamber, deceased. She also leaves many grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends. She was laid to rest in the New Chester cemetery.
