No register of St. Pauls Church, Milwaukee Wisconsin came into the hands of the Rev. Benhamin Akerly when he entered upon the charge of said church, January 25, 1845, nor has he since been able to discover that any had been kept.

The Ministerial acts recorded on pages 116-117 etc. to page 130 inclusive were performed prior to January 25, 1845. and have been collected partly from a private Memorandum found amongst the papers of the late Rev. Lemuel Beech Hull and partly from information derived from other sources. These statistics as far as ascertained are believed to be correct. They constitute however but a portion of the Baptisms, Marriages and Deaths that have occured in St. Pauls Parish from the time of its organization May 23, 1838 to January 25, 1845. Prior to the Rectorship of the Rev. Lemuel B. Hull, July 25, 1839, we have no account; and but little from the period of his death, October 24, 1843 to the time when this Register commences.
