--Two Boys' Escapade--
Did people notice there was an unusual ringing of the Congreational Church bell last Sunday evening? Well, there was, and it was not to cal people to prayers, but to prevent two little culprits from escaping. Col. Hucks' son and Mr. Player's son, both little lads, had climbed up into the belfry after birds eggs, and there they were caught and kept until the strong arm of the law could be invoked to look into this serious offense. The sheriff came, pocketed the two boys, and took them over to the jail, and then he told them to be good boys and sent them home. Source: The Daily Freeman and Republican. WRIGHT GETS $ 2,200. ----
Verdict in the Circuit Cout (sic) for that Sum.
In the Circuit Court this morning a verdict of $ 2,200.24 was awarded H. W. Wright, plaintiff in the case of Wright vs. Kent & Baird. The trouble arose through the failure of the grocery store with which the three were connected. Some time previous to the failure Wright put $ 2,000 into the business under such assurances that his money would be safe that when the crash came and his money was not forthcoming, he brought suit to recover it. The verdict gives him the full amount with interest.

A SUGAR BEET FACTORY.
PROSPECT OF BUILDING ONE AT MENOMONEE FALLS. GOOD BEETS RAISED.
Waukesha, Dec. 2. - Saturday night, Dec. 13, a mass meeting is to be held at Menomonee Falls, to consider the question of establishing a beet sugar factory.
Menomonee Falls, Dec. 2. - Considerable interest is manifested in the analysis of the different varieties of sugar beets grown in this section from seed imported from Germany last spring. The doubt heretofore existing among farmers as to raising them successfully is ended by the yield which they have given and the percentage of sugar the juice contained, as analyzed at the experimental station at Madison. The last report from Madison gives the beets raised on the farm of Fred Burrows a percentage for the Imperial bee 16.01 in he liquid, and the Mangold 16.33, and the beets raised on the farm of J. Roebel give 17 per cent., which is the highest yield yet reported in the state. On the farm of Mr. Burrows the amount raised on an acre was fifteen tons, and the ground is claimed not to have been in the best condition. The farmers in this section are encouraged with the results so far and will go into the business of raising sugar beets. An effort is on foot at the present time to form a stock company for the manufacture of beet sugar, and the business men of the Falls and the farmers here are ready to confer with men who will take stock in the enterprise. There are 1,000 bushels of seed on hand, which has proven to be good. Farmers in this section will contract to keep up a certain acreage, and the way appears clear for a $50.000 sugar plant in this city before spring.
