Wisconsin Tuberculosis and Consumption Sanatoriums in 1916
The following is a list of Public Tuberculosis Sanatoria in Wisconsin in 1916. Many of these early public facilities were staffed and additionally funded by religious institutions or other benevolent organizations. At the end of the list of state and county institutions is a list of Homes for the insane that had TB faciliites, a list of penal institutions that had care for TB infected inmates, and a list of open air schools. TUBERCULOSIS WARD OF THE MILWAUKEE CHILDREN'S FREE HOSPITAL Opened: 1907 For cases of tuberculosis of the bones. Capacity: 12 Rates: Free to indigent cases. $1 per day for others. OUTAGAMIE COUNTY See Little Chute RACINE SUNNY REST SANATORIUM-RACINE COUNTY SANATORIUM Opened: Dec 1913 For all classes of cases. STEVENS POINT RIVER PINES SANATORIUM FOR TUBERCULOSIS Opened: 1906 For incipient and moderately advanced cases.
